Job Description Summary:
First Level Support responsible for triage, trouble shooting, resolution and escalation as per service levels and documentation. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing first level support in the management, monitoring and control of the Company Services as defined by the responsibilities of the Team and to include support for strategic products such as Eikon, Eikon for Wealth Management, Eikon Messenger, Financial Crime & Risk Products and Compass Applications, but not to be exclusive to these specifically.
The position will involve shift work, covering services provided globally on a 24x7 rotating shift pattern of 9 hours per day.
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Performs routine daily operations, monitoring, fault detection and initial troubleshooting for company managed systems and applications globally ensuring correct referral and escalation of issues.
To ensure that business critical task checklists are followed and that all scheduled events are completed correctly in a timely and efficient manner.
To identify and report deficiencies in systems, services and procedures, and ensure that corrective actions identified are completed.
To produce routine daily logs, exception reports and reports on major service incidents.
Participate in Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) to meet operational needs.
To ensure personal knowledge of all supported systems is continually updated.
To provide a high level of customer service, whilst working under pressure.
To ensure personal awareness of and adherence to established Incident Management and Problem Management procedures
Candidate should be willing to work on a 24x7 rotating shift pattern of 9 hours per day.
Graduate in Computer Science/Information Technology or Engineering.
1-2 years experience in computer system operations.
Experienced with Linux and Windows based operating systems and basic Networking concepts.
Minimum knowledge and understanding of financial markets is desirable.
ITIL Foundation certification is desirable.
Excellent critical thinking and problem solving capabilities.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to communicate effectively in English with all levels of staff, both orally and written.
Ability to act rapidly and logically under pressure, and make effective use of others in resolving problems.
Ability to manage own work and multitask to meet tight deadlines without losing sight of priorities under minimum supervision.
Willingness to make changes to improve operational efficiency through innovation, process and procedure, and adopting and adapting ideas and practices from elsewhere.
